Spiritual Practices to Aid Recovery of Chronic Dizziness
This blog post talks about spiritual practices you can use on your recovery journey of PPPD, mdDS, Vestibular Migraine and so much more. So let’s dig in!
Visualisation
This is a powerful tool which allows you to really step into the reality you want. Put some of your favourite music on and start visualising! One of my favourite visualisations was to imagine myself at a party dedicated to celebrating my recovery. I saw all of my family and friends congratulating me and hugging me.
The goal here is to feel the emotions of having what you want. Bear in mind, this practice is not there to fix something that is “broken”. It is there to give you an opportunity to offer a vibration that matches your desire. Get as detailed as possible here so you can feel the happiest. Once you are finished visualising, let all the details go. The most important thing is that your vibration has been raised.
Try not to constantly think about the fact that you don’t have that reality yet. It’s important that you have positive expectation of that reality coming to you. You don’t want to hate your current reality because you don’t have what you want, this will delay the process.
Meditation
This is a wonderful practice to use when you want to release some resistance. This is a quick and easy way to let your vibration rise naturally. I love meditation because it gives me a chance to get in touch with my Inner Being. The goal of meditation is not to think positive thoughts, it’s to think no thought.
When I was too stressed to think positively, I found it easier to just close my eyes, listen to music and just let my thoughts slow down. I always felt more calm afterwards. At first, meditation will definitely feel unnatural, because we want to think! It’s going to be impossible to think nothing the entire time, so don’t beat yourself up if thoughts keep popping up! When you notice you’ve followed a thought for too long, just bring your awareness back to your breath.
Scripting
Utilise this tool when you want to get into the vibration of your desire. To do this, grab a new journal to dedicate to this practice. Begin writing about the future reality you desire as if it has already happened. You can write anything you like so long as it feels good.
How does it feel to be in that day? What kind of person are you? What kind of people do you have around you? Write for as long as you like, but make sure that when it’s over that you don’t immediately hate your current reality. You want to try and stay in that vibration for as long as you can. Positive expectation is the key.
