Hi, I’m Megan. Nice to Meet You.

I became an accidental expert in chronic dizziness, and I’m here to tell you that recovery is 100% possible.

My Story, in a Nutshell

Chronic dizziness can have many different causes – some from a biological event such as an ear infection, others from psychological distress such as trauma or anxiety. For myself, since my late teens I have experienced health anxiety, which I believe was a contributing factor of my Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD / 3PD).

In May 2019, I was living in London. I had experienced a series of stressful events beginning from December 2018, up until the symptoms began. These events had a big impact on my stress levels. In May, I began to notice that I felt “off”. I couldn’t really put my finger on the feeling but I didn’t feel right. I was able to continue working normally and living a fairly normal life, until August 2019. Yet another stressful event occurred which led to an extremely intense headache, a panic attack and a lot of dizziness which made me feel like I was going to faint.

From that day onwards the symptoms of dizziness became 24/7 and continued to get progressively more intense. By December 2019 I had to stop working altogether. The symptoms became debilitating, where I couldn’t do basic tasks like shower or brush my teeth without feeling intense symptoms. I had no idea what was wrong with me. It was a whole year before I began having tests done.

A year later, I got an MRI and a CT scan which came back clear, and I was officially diagnosed with PPPD in December 2020. PPPD was my formal diagnosis, however I also experienced symptoms of mdDS, (rocking, swaying when still). Everywhere I looked there were stories of people having these conditions for years and never getting better, even my doctors couldn’t help me. However I know now that it was because they didn’t have the right knowledge and guidance.

Doctors offered me SSRI’s, however I have always been rather anti-medication – my belief being that they numb the symptoms rather than the underlying cause. I was making some progress, yet I was still struggling with the anxiety. The symptoms were still so up and down and I couldn’t get them under control. I continued to research until I came across “Joey Remenyi” at the beginning of 2021. I was over the moon to have found her because she was giving people hope – recovery from chronic dizziness symptoms was actually possible! I watched their videos on repeat, and I even got a free scholarship to Joey’s program.

I felt that I still needed some 1-1 coaching however, so I kept searching and eventually found “The Steady Coach” towards the end of 2021. After working with her, I felt sustainable improvement in my symptoms for the first time in years. She prescribed me Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT) which I did daily, then stopped after two months. After about 5 months I finally felt confident enough to get back to normal life activities, which became my VRT.

My healing progress was slow and steady. When I say normal life activities, I mean going to a grocery store once a week, it wasn’t like I was able to do loads right away!

It took about 6 – 12 months to feel confident enough in my healing journey that I could resume real life. I knew that I wanted to help others once I was recovered, so I am beyond happy that I am now able to do so.

Overcoming PPPD can feel impossible at times, however that is why I created this website and started coaching. Knowing that someone else has been through what you’re dealing with can give you relief like nothing else. You are not crazy, or alone.
