FAQ

    • Symptoms: Present for at least 3 months, for at least 50% of the time. You may experience dizziness, unsteadiness, rocking, swaying or non-spinning vertigo on most days. Symptoms can last for hours, but may not be present all day.

    • Exacerbating factors: Symptoms worsen when you're upright, moving, or processing complex visual information.

    • Triggering events: You experienced an event, such as a chronic condition or temporary episode, that caused the dizziness. This includes emotional triggers as well as physical.

    • Cause of symptoms: Your brain does not quite understand how to go back to normal sensations, often due to central sensitisation. This is something we can work on together!

    • Symptoms: Often increase when trying to remain motionless, such as falling asleep or standing still. MdDS does not include other symptoms associated with vestibular disorders, such as spinning, vomiting, ear pressure, tinnitus, or hearing loss.

    • Exacerbating factors: Laying/sitting still.

    • Triggering events: Prolonged passive motion, such as boating, air travel, or extended land travel. Symptoms can also occur spontaneously due to stressful events or psychological distress.

    • Cause of symptoms: Just like with PPPD, your brain does not quite understand how to go back to normal sensations, often due to central sensitisation. This is something we can work on together!

  • That nervous system of yours! This is something I work through with my clients, and what I teach inside my program.
